Mary had a little lamb

I am mostly being used to the rhymes with my 2.5 year old at home. “Mary had a little lamb” has been my toddler’s favorite song in 2 weeks now. She tends to have all the songs or any circumstances at home to sing in Mary’s tune. Apparently, even the parents have become like that now a days. Hehe… Last night, my wife changed “Mary had a little lamb” as below

Mary had a little lanb,
little lamb, little lamb
Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went
Mary went, Mary went
And everywhere that Mary went, the Lamb was sure to go

… into …

Daddy had a Dell laptop
Dell laptop, Dell laptop
Daddy had a Dell laptop, it was always kept open

And everywhere that Laptop was taken
Laptop was taken, laptop was taken
And everywhere Laptop was taken, Daddy was sure to go

<I forgot the rest of the text at the moment>

I kept laughing over and over on this co-incident song, hehe…

Test Case Management on VSTF

Several months ago, I was looking for a better test case management feature on VSTF and that could be used as one stop location for all the source code control, bug management, documentation, reports, and test case management, project planning, etc. However, although we liked all the features except for the test case management where one had to use the word documents or text files for manual functional test cases.  I recently came across this article [http://blogs.msdn.com/vstsqualitytools/archive/2007/08/17/august-2007-ctp-tcm-test-cases.aspx] explaining about the test case management in Rosario. There are bunch of screenshots. There are good white papers available on MSDN [link] site.

Radio News – Stress Saver traffic…

Radio News - Stress Saver Traffic … or so is what I heard as when I turned on the Radio on the way back home. I am wondering why it is termed as “Stress Saver” traffic. Is it probably to save that stress you have while driving or ok – we have these traffic news, relax ‘coz it is going to take some time to clear out the traffic in your direction. Something, I am still trying to understand further. Almost everytime I hear this section of news, these are standards:

a. SouthBound I-405 and EastBound I-90 – major construction   – 2 lanes blocked
b. North Bound I-405 between NE 8th street and NE 4th street – 2 lanes closed for a major accident clear up
c. major accident on the east bound 520 bridge, it is going to take 60mins crossing the bridge
d. hwy 99 at so and so street – road closed
e. between SE12th and “name” street on west bound 520, traffic is very much congested due to heavy rain and 2 minor accidents.

“radio channel” news, stress saver traffic, brought to you by “blah blah blah company”

–> so is this like stress saver or stress reliever :)

I am confused…

Toyota Camry – most in demand!

Filed under: Cars — ramsblog @ 5:38 pm

We recently bought a Toyota Camry. I have always had Toyota Corolla in the past several years and this time, we again stayed for Toyota. Anyways, just noticed a blog post mentioning about Camry being a most shopped car in the month of August 2007. Well, looks like we were one of the contributors (we bought in the month of Aug2007) :)

Native language in browser address

My understanding all these days was the URLs can only be in english since thats based on the ASCII character set. However, on my way driving back home last night, I happened to turn on FM94.9 (if i remember right), and a news clip mentioned about the capability of having the internet address in native languages and different character sets. That’s great. It also mentioned that it is going to be applied with 11 local languages – viz., Chinese, Hindi,  <hmmm…. i thought i remembered at least 6 to 7 of them.. apparently not>. So, how does it look like when entered in Hindi? like translate www into something? Are there any pointers that we can look into for more information, that you are aware of? Is this going to be a Pro or a Con? interesting though…

Lecture video, online training, Information at finger tips…

Thats awesome. I was just glancing over Techmeme and noticed a link to this information. [link]. Teaching/Learning resources have become available in abundance now. It is all about managing the information we have in hands today. There were days when there was no way to learn things remote and had to find a school or a Guru. I am not saying we don’t need them, but having these resources available enhances the learning capability in addition and beyond what we learn from the teachers 1:1. I specially like the online video training just because, it gives me an access to attend the talks happening on other side of the world and I don’t need to travel around the globe. My wife and I were looking for some lyrics for Carnatic classical music the other day and we found few basic music classes audio streamed online. That’s fabulous. Not that we learn all the music there, but these resources are sure, brush up for most people.
