computer hangs when wireless networks detected…

My laptop computer seems to have this problem. I have a belkin wireless router at home and seems to work fine and my laptop (Latitude 640) has integrated wireless card. It looks like every time my computer detects other wireless networks around, my computer just hangs. I currently have windows XP professional installed on it. I am wondering what the reason could be. Anyone had a similar issue before? I kind of had to reboot about 5 to 8 times in the past couple of hours. I am not sure if it is with my wireless router or with the wireless card on this computer 🙂

I assume i have the right wireless driver installed – as device manager doesn’t seem to complain about it!

  2. Mani,
I think it was about having the right wireless driver installed on the machine. Even I thought if it was with the cisco wireless card i used, but apparently, the same card worked fine for some time on another laptop computer and still using the same wireless router. so in my case, it was the combination of Wireless card and having the right driver. I have now changed the laptop computer that has the integrated wireless card and haven’t had that issue in a while, though I notice the connection detects other network around and I lose the connection at times, but does not really freeze the machine.
