Software demos – naming convention…

question: Why do people giving the product demos use the negative wordings about themselves or for the variables being presented in demo ?

some of the examples a developer provides…

“string sCrap123”

“comment: I am a stupid developer”

“comment: I am sick”

etc etc…

Does it really mean they are downplaying themselves or introducing some humor as part of the presentation or else, they really feel they are stupid. If the latter, how could a presenter expect the audience to listen to him/her? Audience go to such presentations to learn new cool things from a person presenting the topic, in my understanding.

Is it not interesting?

  1. Probably it denotes their mood at that time..

Generally that brings nothing other than a shabby mood to us too 🙂
