oh yes, we have been snowed since yesterday. It was beautiful sunny day with temperatures at its teens today. My 5yr old and I went out for a few minutes to take some pictures. was it cold, oh! it was freezing. My fingers taking pictures were frozen within few minutes. daughters feet were frozen and literally ran home after some time staying out taking pictures.
some kids had fun sledding around the streets. It was a great walk though.
hope it all melts away tonight, but with the lower temperature till later tomorrow, wonder it gets icy before it melts.
It is beautiful to see the plants with flowers now, at least one plant by our house appears to be in spring already…
great to see spring colors for next month or so. Nice to see some sun after past few months and the day light is getting longer day by day with pleasant northwest weather.
Foggy morning, though it is sunny on some parts of the area.
A nice drive with cold outside the car and warm inside due to sun rays through the window and fog on greens – beautiful drive….
Clicked this picture with my audiovox windows mobile 2003 phone while driving this morning.
A local radio channel on my way home this evening reported a weather forecast for next 48 hours.
It has been partly cloudy today with high 40’s. Tonight’s lows around high 30s, light rain and chances of rain. Tomorrow highs and 40s; partly cloudy during the day and chances of rain at night; on Sunday the temperature highs at low 40s, partly cloudy. And at the night, you’ve guessed it, RAIN.
Last couple of days have been great here. Beautiful sunny weather during the day with temperature at high 40’s and low 50’s although night temparature goes down to low 30s. It is great to see the daylight stay a little longer and sunset around 5:45 or 6pm as opposed to 4:30pm in this part of the world.
It is also nice to see people getting out and take some fresh air – jog, walk, biking, etc. Also noticed number of motorcycles and bunch of convertibles. Out of these there were few Lamborghinis and Ferraris that we don’t get to see that often in this area…
It is probably another month or two when lots of boats making their way out to the nearby lakes….
Apparently, looking at the weather forecast, it is being predicted to be snow showers for one night next week end and is predicted to be raining for the rest of this week.
We went around this afternoon, though cloudy, didn’t think it was going to snow. From local stores, we thought of driving a little further (about 27miles away) to IKEA stores. Our objective at this store was to look for something we wanted and get out within at the most 15minutes. We also took note of time we checked in. To start with and along the way, we did rush through our steps and didn’t really look around the things. In spite, by the time we came out of payment counters, it was about 90minutes. We stopped for an ice-cream at the store exit, and spent another 30minutes. It was around 5:30 and we knew it would be dark outside, but when we really came closer to the exit door, we realized it was even snowing a little bit.
This is when I realized we had to fill in the gas. Looked for a gas station near by and once done, hit the road again. Traffic was ok but I realized the road was a bit slippery. we just prayed to get home quick and safe. An hour later, we were in our home complex and sighed with relief. *we are home*
as we approached our home, we noticed approximately about an inch of snow blanket on roads and sidewalks.

I was at a local attraction this morning. A tour guide introduces herself and gives a little bit of background of this area. It was a beautiful sunny sunday today however, she made a nice comment on the weather in this area. “Oh! Seattle has only two seasons (a) Winter (b) July”
Few days ago, when we were talking to another person and when the weather related conversation came up, he said “Did you say it was raining this morning, oh! anyways, We have only 2 seasons in this area : (a) Rain and (b) Rain”
So that sums up the weather in Seattle is like, yikes! :)
Someone I met this morning said, “did you see the UFO this morning while driving up here? It was a bright shiny object that we haven’t seen in 8 months!!!”
that’s right, although we had a bright sunny day a week ago, however it has been over 8 months since we saw the bright sun and clear skies like we have had this week or more of today with the temperature upto 99 degrees this afternoon.
have fun Seattle-ites… :)
Received this in my email recently…

It’s (almost) Spring – Daylight Savings kicking in. Until recently, I was always confused on when to turn the clock backwards by an hour and when to turn forward; meaning between March/April or Oct/Nov.
so Spring forward by an hour at 2am on March 09 (on Sunday) [second sunday of March] and Fall back in November.
see more information about Daylight Savings on encarta site here
So a funny story here, we at home often have one of the clocks in different daylight savings time. Anyways, around March is when we tend to get up a bit earlier compared to other days. So we think, oh at least we are getting up a little early. and then the daylight saving kicks in, the same time (getting up at 7am) all of a sudden becomes 8am. Now, get adjusted to an hour difference now. Part of the reason why we think we are getting up early around early march is the day light, Sun starts to rise at 6’ish around this season and going forward about 4:%5am in mid summer.
As we approach October/November, Sun rises around 6’ish and one fine morning we realize “Fall back” (1st sunday of Nov). Sun starts to rise (at least what we think since we adjust the clock), at 7’ish and then around 8am in December. It is another cycle of getting adjusted to late sun rise and early sunset (5’ish PM)
Anyways, welcome Spring and forward the clocks by an hour on 9th. Though Spring officially starts on March 20th this year.
hmmm… I always thought it was on 21st. I do not know if it is due to Leap year that the Spring officially starts on March 20th instead, this year.
