I can’t see how the “liquidity support measures are distinct from the quantitative easing meassures”. I tend to agree with Katz, in that, at a minimum, they are related, but would argue that they are indeed one and the same.Whether it be by &##&;61ordinary288217; use of monetary policy, or by the purchase of banks’ holdings of “troubled assets”, or through the purchase (by a central bank) of other government or commercial paper through QE, all have the effect in one way or another of supporting liquidity.
